FaneKantsini Espadin Agave 750ml

FaneKantsini Espadin is an Oaxacan mezcal made from espadin, the cultivated agave that anchors most of the category and the best place to learn what mezcal actually tastes like. The agave hearts are roasted in an earthen pit, crushed, fermented with wild yeast and distilled twice, and the smoke you taste is a by-product of that fire rather than anything added later. The nose is roasted agave and green pepper; the palate runs sweet and smoky with citrus and a mineral edge; the finish is warm and clean. Serve it neat in a copita, no ice, alongside orange and sal de gusano.
