Six of the ten Four Roses bourbon recipes go into Small Batch Select, a non-chill-filtered Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 104 proof. Skipping chill filtration leaves the barrel oils in the bottle, so the texture lands rounder and the flavor closer to what the distillers pull straight from the rickhouse. The whiskey ages six to seven years before batching, and the official card reads raspberries, cloves, and nutmeg up front; apricot, berries, vanilla, and light oak through the middle; then lingering spearmint with a light touch of cinnamon. Small Batch Select joined the permanent lineup in 2019 as the fourth bottle in the standing range. Drink it neat or over one large cube — the proof carries either way.
