About this bottle
Glen Scotia is one of only three remaining working distilleries in Campbeltown, once one of Scotland's biggest whisky-producing regions before it collapsed to almost nothing in the early 20th century. Double Cask matures in first-fill bourbon barrels before finishing in oloroso sherry casks, layering sherry sweetness and dried fruit onto the coastal, slightly briny character Campbeltown malts are known for. Bottled at 46% without an age statement, it's a genuinely distinctive whisky from one of Scotland's smallest and least commercially exposed whisky regions, worth trying for drinkers who've mostly stuck to Speyside or Islay.
