Glen Grant Exploration No.1 is a Speyside single malt from the distillery at Rothes, a house known for tall, slender stills fitted with purifiers, a design that sends heavier vapour back for redistillation and produces a lighter, cleaner spirit than most of its neighbours. That style runs straight through the Exploration series. Expect orchard fruit and vanilla on the nose, a palate of pear, honey and soft malt inside a gentle oak frame, and a crisp, dry finish. We have left strength and cask detail blank rather than guess at this release's specifics. Drink it neat before dinner, or with a few drops of water to open it up.
