Gordon's Vodka is the vodka side of a British drinks house that has been far better known for gin since 1769. It is a column-distilled, charcoal-filtered grain vodka built for volume work rather than for contemplation, and it is priced and packaged accordingly. The nose is clean and faintly grainy, the palate is soft with a touch of cereal sweetness and a light mineral edge, and the finish is short with a mild peppery warmth. This is a well bottle in the best sense — the one you reach for when the vodka is a supporting player. Keep it in the freezer and pour it into a screwdriver, a mule or a bloody mary.
