Gray Whale Vodka is made in California by Golden State Distillery, the same coastal operation behind the Gray Whale gin, and it carries the same conservation-minded branding tied to the whale's migration up the Pacific. As a vodka it is deliberately understated: filtered clean, soft on the tongue and built to carry a drink rather than dominate it. The nose is quiet with a faint grain sweetness, the palate is rounded with light citrus and a mineral edge, and the finish is short, crisp and dry. Keep the bottle in the freezer and pour it into a martini with a lemon twist, or run it long with soda and lime.
