Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique is a single cask-strength single malt whisky from Kavalan Distillery in Yilan, Taiwan, finished in barrique casks that previously held wine (vinho), a signature move in Kavalan's Solist cask-strength series. Taiwan's hot, humid climate accelerates maturation dramatically compared to Scotland, so young Kavalan whisky often tastes far older than its age statement suggests. Expect dark fruit, red wine notes and spice on the nose, a rich, full-bodied palate with berry fruit and oak, and a long, warm, wine-influenced finish. It's one of the most acclaimed non-Scotch single malts on the market.
