Lagrimas del Valle Reposado La Loma is a rested tequila from Jalisco, part of a series that keeps each ranch separate instead of blending them together, so the name on the label tells you where the agave grew. Time in oak softens the cooked agave without burying it, which is what a good reposado is supposed to do. The nose gives roasted agave, vanilla and dried orange peel; the palate lays soft oak over the agave with honey, baking spice and a peppery lift; the finish is warm, spiced and medium in length. Drink it neat, or over one big cube in a tequila old fashioned.
