Legent is a Kentucky bourbon whiskey from Jim Beam master distiller Fred Noe and Suntory chief blender Shinji Fukuyo, a collaboration that finishes bourbon in a combination of wine and sherry casks before final blending. That secondary cask finishing gives it more fruit and wine-like depth than a standard bourbon, though it also means the whiskey doesn't carry a straight bourbon designation on the label. The nose carries dark fruit, oak, and light spice, the palate is rich with toffee and red wine notes, and the finish is long and rounded. Good for sipping neat to taste the cask finishing directly.
