Maker's Mark BEP is the fifth and final bourbon in the Wood Finishing Series, a 2023 limited release built around one number: 110, the barrel entry proof the distillery has held since the 1950s. Lower entry proof preserves soft wood sugars and gentler tannins in the barrel, and BEP amplifies that character with ten virgin toasted American oak finishing staves. The result leads with toasty vanilla and caramel on the nose, turns bright with brown sugar on the palate, and closes on rich caramel and dry baking spices. Bottled at cask strength that varies slightly from barrel to barrel, this wheated bourbon rewards a side-by-side pour.
