Mijenta Maestra Selection No 1 Blanco 750 ML

Mijenta Maestra Selection No. 1 is an unaged blanco tequila from the highlands of Jalisco, made from fully mature blue Weber agave and released as a small numbered series under the house's maestra tequilera. Mijenta is an additive-free brand, so what reaches the glass is agave, water and yeast rather than sweetener or glycerin, and the distillate is left to show its own weight. The nose is bright and green, all cooked agave and lime zest with a flick of white pepper. Citrus and cucumber follow on the palate over a mineral, faintly saline centre, and the finish is clean and softly peppery. Serve it neat in a copita, or in a margarita built with fresh lime.
