Never Say Die Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon with an unusual passport. It is distilled and filled to barrel in Kentucky, then shipped across the Atlantic to finish maturing in a cool English cellar, where slower, damper conditions push the whiskey somewhere a Kentucky rickhouse never would. The name comes from the 1954 Kentucky Derby winner who later stood at stud in England, so the crossing is the point rather than a gimmick. The nose is caramel and orchard fruit; the palate is brown sugar, baked apple and toasted oak; the finish is soft and long. Pour it neat, or over one large cube.
