Nikka From the Barrel is a Japanese blended whisky married in casks after blending and bottled at a punchy 102.8 proof. It draws on more than a hundred malt and grain whiskies from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, then rests the finished blend in oak so the parts knit together before bottling. For its strength it drinks remarkably smooth, layering butterscotch and orange peel over stone fruit, coffee, old oak, and a wisp of smoke and spice.
