Octo Blue Extra Anejo Huichol is a tequila extra anejo bottled at 80 proof, presented in a bottle decorated in the beadwork style of the Huichol people of western Mexico. Extra anejo is the longest-aged regulated category, requiring a minimum of three years in oak, and a tequila that has sat that long drinks closer to a fine brandy than to a blanco. Look for dried fig, vanilla and toasted almond on the nose, a thick palate of caramel, dark chocolate and seasoned oak, and a long finish of cinnamon and leather. Serve it neat at room temperature in a tulip glass and skip the mixer entirely.
