Old Louisville 10 Year is a Kentucky bourbon drawn from a single barrel, GS426, and bottled uncut and without chill filtration. Skipping the filter leaves the fatty acids and oils in the whiskey, which is why the pour can turn cloudy over ice and why the texture sits noticeably heavier than a standard bottling. Ten years in oak brings depth to match: dark cherry, tobacco leaf and vanilla on the nose, a thick palate of caramel, cocoa and seasoned oak with pepper building underneath, and a long finish of char and dried fruit. Drink it neat, adding water one drop at a time until the fruit comes forward.
