Olmeca Altos Plata Tequila 1.75 ml
About this bottle
Olmeca Altos Plata is a 100% blue agave blanco tequila made in the highlands of Arandas, Jalisco, where cooler air and richer soil push more sugar into the agave. Altos partially crushes its cooked agave with a traditional stone tahona before fermentation, a slower method most modern tequilas skip. Unaged and bottled at 40% ABV, it comes off the still clean and bright, with cooked agave and citrus on the nose, peppery heat on the palate, and a crisp, dry finish. It's built for margaritas and palomas as much as for sipping, and it's the kind of everyday blanco a bartender reaches for without a second thought.
How to drink Olmeca Altos Plata
This is a mixing blanco first, a Paloma or Margarita shows off its citrus and pepper without masking it. Chilled and neat works too if you want to taste the tahona character straight, but don't expect the softness of a reposado.

Questions about this bottle
How should I serve Olmeca Altos Plata?
Chilled and neat, or in cocktails, works well; it's unaged so there's no need to let it warm up to open.
What cocktails work well with Olmeca Altos Plata?
Margaritas and Palomas are the classic fit, and it also holds up in a simple Tommy's Margarita with just lime and agave.
What makes the tahona process different?
The cooked agave is partially crushed with a traditional stone tahona wheel instead of an all-mechanical shredder, a slower step most modern tequila brands skip.
Who created Olmeca Altos?
It was developed with bartenders Henry Besant and Dre Masso, built as a mixing tequila by and for the bar community rather than a marketing-first brand.
