Plantation Rum Australia 2007 750 ml

Plantation Australia 2007 is a single-vintage rum from Queensland, a corner of the rum world most drinkers never reach, distilled from local cane and released as part of Plantation's vintage program. The house method applies here as everywhere else: tropical ageing at origin first, where the heat pushes the spirit along fast, then a second stretch in cooler French cellars where it rounds out. The nose is toffee, dried banana and a little eucalyptus, the palate runs sweet and soft with molasses, vanilla, orange peel and a light spice, and the finish is medium, warm and clean. Pour it neat, or over one large cube to stretch it out.
