Pochteca Almond Liquor 750ml

Pochteca Almond is a Mexican almond liqueur, sweet, nutty and pointed squarely at the dessert end of the evening. Almond liqueurs sit somewhere between marzipan and toasted nut, and the sugar here carries the flavour rather than smothering it. The nose is marzipan, vanilla and warm toasted almond, the palate is thick and sweet with almond paste, cherry stone and a little baking spice, and the finish is long, sweet and faintly bitter in the way good almond flavour always is. Pour it cold over ice, use it where a recipe calls for amaretto, or add a measure to coffee after dinner.
