Pochteca Blackberry 750ml

Pochteca Blackberry is a Mexican fruit liqueur built on ripe blackberry, dark in the glass and sweet in the mouth. Berry liqueurs are only as good as the fruit character that survives the sugar, and this one heads for jammy rather than candied, which is what keeps it useful behind a bar. The nose is crushed blackberry with a little vanilla, the palate is sweet and dense with dark berry, plum skin and a tart edge that stops it going flat, and the finish is long, fruity and clean. Serve it cold over ice, top it with sparkling wine for something close to a kir royale, or shake it with tequila and lime.
