Qvevri Wine Georgia Koncho Amber 750ml

Koncho & Co Amber is a Georgian white wine made the old way: white grapes fermented on their skins inside a qvevri, the beeswax-lined clay vessel buried to its neck in the cellar floor. That skin contact is what turns a white wine amber, and it brings tannin along with the colour. Expect dried apricot, orange peel, walnut and black tea on the nose, then a dry, grippy palate of quince, nut skin and honeyed stone fruit, closing tannic and long with a bitter-orange edge. Serve it cool rather than cold and treat it like a light red: roast chicken, aged cheese, walnuts.
