Qvevri Wine Georgia Koncho&Co Mukuzani 750ml

Mukuzani is widely regarded as Georgia's benchmark dry red: a Kakhetian appellation made entirely from Saperavi and required to spend time in oak before release, which is unusual in a country that traditionally trusts clay. That ageing is what separates it from everyday Saperavi. The nose is black plum and cassis with tobacco and cedar behind them, the palate is dense dark fruit shot through with cocoa and dried herb over a firm tannic frame, and the finish is long, dry and properly structured. This is the bottle for a serious dinner. Decant it, then pour it with grilled lamb, beef or slow-cooked stews.
