Qvevri Wine Georgia Koncho Orange 750ml

Koncho & Co Orange is Georgian orange wine, which is white wine made like a red: the juice ferments on its skins in a qvevri, the clay vessel buried in the cellar floor, and picks up colour, tannin and grip along the way. Georgia has been doing this for roughly eight thousand years, long before the style became a wine-bar fixture. The nose is marmalade, dried peach, chamomile and hazelnut, the palate is dry and textured with tangerine pith, herbs and a savoury nutty streak, and the finish is grippy with a clean citrus bitterness. Serve it lightly chilled with spiced food, charcuterie or hard cheese.
