Rare Character Presents December Flights is a straight whiskey release from a Kentucky house that made its name selecting and bottling mature single barrels. The Presents series is where the blenders put out one-off bottlings under their own banner, so a release like this is defined by the barrels behind it rather than by any recurring house recipe. Expect caramel and dark orchard fruit on the nose, a palate of toffee, baking spice, orange peel and dry oak, and a long, warming finish. Drink it neat and give it a few minutes in the glass, or pour it over a single large cube.
