Sagamore Spirit Kitsap Whiskey Society Straight Rye 9 year 750 ML

This is a single barrel of Sagamore Spirit straight rye, selected by the Kitsap Whiskey Society and bottled at nine years old. Sagamore is a Baltimore distillery working in the Maryland rye tradition, a style historically rounder and less austere than the dry, pepper-forward ryes most drinkers know, and nine years in oak pushes it further toward richness. The nose is dark honey, mint and toasted oak. The palate is rye spice wrapped in caramel and vanilla, with dried cherry and a green herbal edge behind it. The finish is long, warm and lightly peppery. Drink it neat, or let it carry a Sazerac where the rye needs to stay audible.
