Segura Viudas Heredad Brut 750ml

Segura Viudas Heredad is a Cava from Penedes in Catalonia, made by the traditional method, with the second fermentation happening in the same bottle you eventually open, exactly as in Champagne, but from indigenous Spanish grapes rather than Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The estate presents it in a heavy pewter-mounted flask that has become its signature on any shelf. The nose is green apple, toasted bread and almond. The palate is dry and finely beaded, with citrus, pear and a little brioche picked up from time on the lees. The finish is chalky and clean. Serve it cold in a white wine glass rather than a flute, with oysters, jamon, or nothing at all.
