Spirit of Hven Swedish Organic Aquavit 750

Spirit of Hven is a small organic distillery on the island of Hven, a speck of Sweden in the middle of the Öresund strait, better known for its single malt than for anything else it makes. Its aquavit is Scandinavia's own botanical spirit, built the traditional way around caraway and dill rather than juniper. Caraway and dill lead the nose with citrus peel behind, then a warm, herbal palate of caraway, fennel, anise and pepper over a clean grain base, drying out through a long finish. Serve it ice cold in a small stemmed glass alongside herring, smoked fish, or a heavy winter table.
