About this bottle
Telmont Blanc de Blancs Vinothèque 2006 is a vintage Champagne made entirely from Chardonnay, held back in Telmont's cellars under the 'Vinothèque' designation for extended lees aging before release. Made in Damery by Champagne Telmont, a family-founded house known more recently for sustainable, low-intervention farming, it shows a pale yellow color with greenish reflections and a fine, persistent mousse from the extra bottle age. Expect white flowers, citrus, and toast on the nose, with a fresh, creamy palate and a long finish. This is a more mature, developed Blanc de Blancs than a standard-release Champagne, built for those who appreciate extra bottle age.
How to drink Telmont Blanc de Blancs Vinothèque 2006
Serve it in a white wine glass, well chilled, alongside oysters or a light seafood dish — the citrus and toast notes want something clean and briny alongside them. Given the extended aging, it also works well as a contemplative aperitif on its own.
