Tequila Ocho Anejo Aged in Old Fitzgerald Bourbon Barrels 750

Tequila Ocho is the Camarena family's single-estate project in Los Altos de Jalisco, built on the idea that a tequila should taste like the field it came from — and this añejo takes that liquid into barrels that previously held Old Fitzgerald, a wheated bourbon. Wheated bourbon casks tend to give back softness rather than spice, and it shows: cooked agave, vanilla and honeyed grain on the nose, caramel and orchard fruit over the earthy highland agave on the palate, then a long, sweet-oaked and warming finish. Drink it neat in a copita and give it ten minutes in the glass before you judge it.
