Torres 10 Reserva Imperial is the Catalan answer to cognac, made by the Torres family in Penedes from distilled wine and then aged for around a decade in a solera of American oak casks rather than in single static barrels. That constant refreshing of older wood with younger spirit is what keeps the brandy round and consistent. This is the France bottle from the World Cup series. Vanilla, apricot and orange zest on the nose, then toffee, dried fruit and baking spice across the palate, with a warm nutty finish. Serve it neat at room temperature alongside a coffee, or over one large cube.
