Tullibardine Sovereign is the entry-level single malt from the Tullibardine distillery in the Scottish Highlands, matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 43% ABV without an age statement. That bourbon-cask maturation shows through as a light, fruity, faintly sweet whisky, with vanilla and orchard fruit on the nose carrying into a soft, honeyed palate and a clean, moderately short finish. It's built as an easy, approachable Highland malt rather than a big, complex sipper, which makes it a reasonable starting point for drinkers newer to single malt Scotch.
How to drink Tullibardine Sovereign
Add a splash of water to open up the fruit and vanilla notes further, or use it as the base of a Rob Roy where its lighter character won't get lost against the vermouth.
