About this bottle

Dom Pérignon P2 — Plénitude 2 — is the house's second act for its 2006 vintage, aged on lees for roughly 16 years before disgorgement to develop a fuller, more layered character than the original release. This bottling was disgorged in early 2023 with a five-gram dosage. Expect brioche and toasted hazelnut on the nose, apricot and baked apple tart through the palate, and a long finish carrying tangerine peel and marzipan. It's built for someone who already knows the 2006 vintage and wants to taste what another decade of aging on lees adds to it.

How to drink Dom Pérignon P2 2006

Serve well-chilled in a white wine glass rather than a narrow flute — P2's aromatics need room to open up. It pairs naturally with roasted or richly sauced seafood, like lobster or seared scallops, rather than lighter shellfish.

Questions about this bottle

What's the right way to serve vintage Champagne like Dom Pérignon P2?

Chill it well and pour into a wider white wine glass rather than a flute, which lets the more developed aromatics show through.

What food pairs well with Dom Pérignon P2 2006?

Richer seafood like lobster or seared scallops matches the wine's toasted, layered character better than lighter raw shellfish.

What does 'P2' mean on a Dom Pérignon label?

P2, or Plénitude 2, marks a second release of the same vintage after extended aging on its lees — in this case, roughly 16 years before disgorgement in early 2023.
