About this bottle
Moët & Chandon's Grand Vintage Brut 2013 is the house's vintage-dated Champagne, made only in years the cellar master judges exceptional and built from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grown that single harvest. 2013 was a cooler, later-ripening year in Champagne, and it shows in the glass: fine, persistent bubbles, aromas of white flowers and citrus, and a palate that moves from crisp green apple into brioche and toasted almond as it airs. The finish is dry and clean, with real length. It's the step up from Moët's non-vintage Impérial for someone celebrating something specific rather than something ongoing.
How to drink Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2013
Chill it well — around 45°F — and pour into a tulip or white wine glass rather than a flat coupe, which loses the bubbles too fast. It's fine on its own, but also stands up to richer food: roast chicken, aged cheese, or lightly buttered lobster.
