Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Brut Rose 2015 750 ml

La Grande Dame is Veuve Clicquot's prestige cuvee, made only in strong vintages and drawn from the house's Grand Cru holdings, with Pinot Noir doing the heavy lifting, the grape Madame Clicquot herself favored. This 2015 rose takes that vintage blend and adds a small measure of still red wine for color and depth. The nose is red cherry, blood orange and toasted brioche. The palate is taut and layered, with raspberry, pastry and a chalky mineral streak running through it, and the finish is long and dry. Serve it cool but not ice cold, in a white wine glass, with lobster, duck, or aged hard cheese.
