Midleton Dair Ghaelach Kilranelagh Wood Tree No. 2 is the second single-forest release in the Kilranelagh Wood series, using virgin Irish oak sourced from the same Kilranelagh Estate in County Wicklow as its Tree No. 1 predecessor, but from a different individual oak tree — each release in this series is genuinely a different cask lot. Midleton’s single pot still whiskey spends roughly two years finishing in that virgin oak before bottling at cask strength, 56.9% ABV (113.8 proof). The nose runs from fresh pine and floral honey into tropical fruit, smoked almond, and cinnamon, with dried chili and candied orange developing on the palate ahead of a long, spiced oak finish. Good for pot still fans building out a full run of the Kilranelagh trees.
