The Solera Cask Process

The defining feature of this expression is the Solera Vat, a massive oak tun inspired by the sherry bodegas of Spain.

• The Blend: The whisky is aged for a minimum of 15 years in a combination of three cask types: European oak sherry, American bourbon, and new (virgin) oak.
• The Vat: These whiskies are married together in the Solera Vat.
• The Alchemy: The vat is never fully emptied; it has been kept at least half-full since 1998. Because it is continuously topped up with new batches, every bottle contains complex layers of flavors, including trace molecules of much older spirits.
