About this bottle
Trascendente Mezcal Artesanal Joven Ensamble blends Espadín and Tobalá agave in one traditionally produced mezcal from Oaxaca, Mexico — underground pit-cooked for smoke character, crushed by tahona, naturally fermented in wooden vessels, and distilled in copper pot stills. Blending the widely cultivated Espadín with the rarer, wild Tobalá gives it more complexity than either agave alone: complex, balanced smoky aromas with pleasant agave sweetness, wood and fruit, moving into earthy, herbaceous flavors with citrus hints and subtle spice. A step up in depth from the brand's single-agave Espadín.
How to drink Trascendente Ensamble
Neat, in a small copita, to compare it against the brand's straight Espadín — the Tobalá in the blend adds an earthiness worth tasting on its own before it disappears into a cocktail.
