About this bottle
Maestro Dobel 50 1968 is an extra añejo tequila from Casa Maestro Dobel, aged 50 months across a combination of American whiskey, French Limousin oak, port, and sherry casks. That multi-cask maturation is the point here — most tequilas see one wood, this one sees four, and the layering shows in the glass. Made from 100% blue weber agave, it pours dark for a tequila, closer to a well-aged brandy than a typical añejo. Expect a slow sipper built for a rocks glass, not a mixer: this is a tequila for someone who already loves añejo and wants to see how far the category can stretch toward whiskey and cognac territory.
