About this bottle
One of only a handful of limited bottlings in the Oban distillery's two-century history, Oban 21 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch matured in rejuvenated American oak and second-fill ex-bodega casks. Bottled at cask strength, it carries the coastal weight this small West Highland maker is known for. Warm gingerbread, caramel, and maple syrup open the nose; the palate turns creamy with vanilla, barley, and stewed pears edged in ginger, and the finish leaves a salty tang and a twist of lemon zest. This is a slow, after-dinner dram — pour it neat and add water a drop at a time to watch it unfold.
