Once sold as Platinum Label, it draws opulent spice from Blair Athol in the Highlands, sweet Speyside fruit from Glen Elgin, and a creamy thread of Cardhu to tie it together. Bottled at 40%, it aims for a soft, layered pour rather than a hot one: soft spice moving through dark chocolate on the nose, richness over sweet fruit on the palate, and a long, creamy finish. This is an after-dinner Scotch — serve it neat or with a single drop of water, and skip the ice that would mute the older casks.
