About this bottle
Appleton Estate Joy Aged 25 Years is a limited-edition Jamaican rum named for and blended by Joy Spence, the world's first female master blender in the spirits industry, at the Appleton Estate distillery in Nassau Valley. Every rum in the blend has spent at least 25 years resting in oak on the estate before marrying. The color runs deep amber, and the palate matches it: dried fruit and toffee up front, then baking spice and oak tannin building through the middle, finishing long and warm with a trace of orange peel. This is a bottle for someone who already knows Appleton's house style and wants to see how far three decades of Jamaican rum-making can take it.
How to drink Appleton Estate Joy Aged 25 Years
Save the mixer — a rum this old is built to be tasted, not stretched. Pour it neat in a tulip glass at room temperature, and give it a few minutes before the first sip; the orange peel and oak notes take a little time to show themselves.
