About this bottle
Deadhead Dark Chocolate Rum is a cacao-infused dark rum from Tapachula, in the Chiapas region of southern Mexico. The base is a five-year-old rum aged in oak, then married with organic cacao grown on Chiapas plantations — the same land that supplies its sugarcane, so the whole bottle tells one story. This is a flavored rum handled with restraint: coffee and butterscotch on the nose give way to real dark chocolate, Bing cherry and a cream-soda sweetness, then a finish that stays warm and softly cocoa-dusted rather than candied. The Deadhead line is best known for its shrunken-head bottle, and this expression fills it with dessert in a glass. Sip it neat after dinner, pour it over a single cube, or stir it into an after-hours espresso cocktail.
