Hogback Distillery Eclipse Cask Strength Rum Cask Finished Rye is a high proof rye whiskey made in Lynchburg, Virginia. It is made from a mash bill of 80% rye and 20% malt and aged for an average of 4 to 6 years in Kentucky bourbon barrels and finished in rum casks from the Caribbean. The distillery finishes the whiskey in the rum casks for an additional year, imparting a complexity of flavors and aromas to the rye whiskey. The whiskey offers a complex palate of roasted nut, vanilla, oak, and dark fruit, complemented by a slight hint of spice. The finish is long and warm.
