About this bottle
Distilled at Bruichladdich in 1985 and bottled at 32 years, Hidden Glory is an Islay single malt Scotch from the distillery's Rare Cask Series. It rested in refill bourbon casks before a spell in French oak that once held claret, and both are legible in the glass. The nose opens on blood orange, banana bread, and vanilla custard, turning floral with marzipan and heather honey. The palate is soft and syrupy, raspberry and ripe plum set against cinder toffee, lemon meringue, and coconut. A long, gentle finish carries vanilla wafer, sandalwood, and salted caramel. Bottled at 48.7% ABV, non-chill filtered and naturally colored. A contemplative dram for a quiet evening, best neat with nothing to rush it.
How to drink Hidden Glory
Pour it neat and let it sit — three decades and a claret-cask finish need time in the glass to show their full range.
