Jura 18 Year Old is an Isle of Jura single malt Scotch, matured eighteen years in ex-bourbon American white oak and finished in Bordeaux red-wine barriques. That red-wine turn is what sets it apart from the rest of the core range, pulling forest-fruit sweetness and a berry-stained depth into the glass. The nose leads with red berries and rich caramel; the palate carries dark fruit, soft spice, and a rounded oak that never turns dry; a faint trace of island sea salt marks the long finish. Bottled at 44 percent, it drinks gently for its age. Pour it neat after dinner, or add a single drop of water to open the fruit — an aged island malt built for slow evenings.
