About this bottle
Dos Maderas Selección Triple Aged Rum Solera is a rum aged using a multi-stage process that starts in the Caribbean, where it rests five years in American oak barrels, before shipping to Spain for a second stage aged three years in casks that previously held Don Guido, a 20-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry. A third phase adds two more years in casks that once held the same 20-year-old Don Guido sherry, giving the rum three distinct aging environments across its life. That layered process builds real complexity: notes of dried fruits, caramel, and oak develop across the Caribbean stage, while the two Spanish sherry-cask phases add PX sweetness and dried-fruit depth beyond what Caribbean aging alone would produce.

How to drink Dos Maderas Triple Aged Rum

Pour it neat in a snifter to trace the layers this three-stage aging process built — Caribbean oak first, then two rounds of PX sherry cask. Skip the mixer; this rum is meant to be tasted slowly like an aged whisky.
