About this bottle
Tequila Ocho Extra Añejo La Estancia 2022 is a single-estate, single-vintage tequila from the La Estancia rancho in San Diego de Alejandría, Jalisco — every Tequila Ocho release ties to one specific field and harvest, the way a Burgundy ties to a vineyard. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave and aged three years in ex-American whiskey barrels, it carries real extra añejo weight: ripe cooked agave, dried fruit, toffee, and cacao on the nose, then roasted coffee, honey, orange peel, and dark chocolate across the palate, with fresh oak running through both. Bottled at 40% ABV. The finish is long and rounded, closing on vanilla, caramel, and agave sweetness. Sip it neat, no salt or lime.
How to drink Tequila Ocho La Estancia 2022
Pour it neat in a copita to catch the coffee and dark-chocolate notes the barrel built over three years. It's rich enough to work as a substitute for a sipping whiskey after dinner, but skip mixing it — the field-specific character this bottle is built around gets lost under lime and salt.

Questions about this bottle
What makes a Tequila Ocho release "single estate"?
Each Tequila Ocho bottling comes from one specific agave field and harvest year, named on the label the way a wine is tied to a vineyard, rather than blending agave from multiple ranches.
How long is this tequila aged, and in what?
It rests three years in ex-American whiskey barrels, a long stretch for an agave spirit, which is why it drinks with real extra añejo depth.
Where does the agave for this bottling come from?
From the La Estancia rancho in San Diego de Alejandría, in Jalisco's highlands.
