About this bottle
Balcones Texas Pot Still Bourbon comes from a four-grain mash of roasted blue corn, Texas wheat, Texas rye, and malted barley, distilled in copper pot stills at the Waco, Texas distillery and aged two years in new charred oak. That mash bill and pot distillation push it toward rye-whiskey territory in character — the nose runs raisin and char with baking spice underneath, and the palate brings coffee, leather, and warming spice ahead of an oaky, straw-tinged finish. Bottled at 46% ABV as a straight bourbon, it drinks hotter and more assertive than most Kentucky-style bourbons. Good for a bourbon drinker who wants something closer to a rye in profile without leaving the bourbon category.
