Bardstown Bourbon Origin Series 750 ml

The Origin Series is Bardstown Bourbon Company's own whiskey, distilled, aged and bottled on site in Bardstown, Kentucky, rather than sourced and blended, which is how the company first made its name. It is the release that shows what the distillery actually tastes like. The nose opens with caramel, vanilla and orchard fruit, the palate turns toward brown sugar, cinnamon and toasted oak with a rye-driven pepper running underneath, and the finish is dry and medium-long with oak char. This is straightforward Kentucky bourbon without a finishing cask doing the talking. Pour it neat, add a few drops of water if it needs opening, or build a clean old fashioned.
