About this bottle
Redbreast 18 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and casks seasoned with oloroso sherry, cream sherry and ruby port, including cream sherry casks from the Antonio Páez Lobato cooperage rarely used in Redbreast's other releases. The extra cask variety and age show up as dried fruit, toasted nuts and baking spice on the nose, with dark chocolate, orange peel and cinnamon developing on the palate through a long, warm finish. Distilled at Midleton, it's a step up in complexity from the standard 12 Year for drinkers who already know the house style.
How to drink Redbreast 18 Year Old
Take it neat, or with a few drops of water if you want the sherry and port cask notes to open up further; this is a sipping whiskey built to be tasted slowly, not mixed.
