About this bottle
Aberfeldy 12 Year Old is the entry-level single malt Scotch from Aberfeldy Distillery in Highland Perthshire, the malt at the heart of the Dewar's blended whisky. Matured 12 years in oak casks, it's built around the distillery's signature heather-honey sweetness. Expect honey and vanilla on the nose, a smooth palate of honey, vanilla, and light oak, and a clean, moderately sweet finish. Bottled at 40% ABV, it's an accessible, gently priced way into Highland single malt, less complex than the 16 or 21 Year but sharing the same house character.
How to drink Aberfeldy 12 Year Old
Neat or on one rock lets the honey character come through cleanly. It's also mild enough to work in a Scotch highball if you want something lighter.
